Associate Professor Sally Bell is the Director of Gastroenterology at Monash Health. She is a clinician researcher with interests in both liver disease and inflammatory bowel disease. She has an MD in molecular virology from the University of Melbourne and did her post doc in inflammatory bowel disease from St Mark’s Hospital London. Her IBD interests include epidemiology and outcomes of inflammatory bowel disease, and she has a speciality interest in IBD and pregnancy. In 2017 she set up the first pregnancy and IBD clinic with Dr Emma Flanagan at St Vincent’s Hospital focussing on addressing concerns about immunosuppression and pregnancy. She has published in the area of safety of anti TNF antibodies in pregnancy, neonatal drug clearance, effective disease monitoring in pregnancy, and IBD patient knowledge and concerns regarding pregnancy.
